THE CHORAL
THURSDAY 15TH OCTOBER | 7.30PM | TRINITY THEATRE

SYNOPSIS
The Choral
Set in Yorkshire during the First World War, The Choral tells the story of a local choral society struggling to survive after many of its male members leave to fight on the Western Front. Determined to continue, the choir recruits local boys and young men and appoints a new choirmaster, Dr Henry Guthrie (Ralph Fiennes), a brilliant but unconventional musician recently returned from Germany. As war, loss and prejudice cast a shadow over the community, music becomes a source of hope, resilience and connection. Written by Alan Bennett and directed by Nicholas Hytner, this moving British drama celebrates the power of music to unite people in the most challenging of times.
